Palmitoylethanolamide (CAS 544-31-0)is an amide compound included 16 carbon ‘s palmitic  acid. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a long chain fatty acid naturally produced by the body but also found in foods such as egg yolk, soy and sunflower oils.

From the report of American Personal Care Products Council, PEA has the function of Surfactants-Foam Booster, Viscosity Increasing Agents-Aqueous. Similarly, Korean Cosmetic Association(KCA) describes PEA’s effect as Surfactants and Viscosity Increasing Agents-Aqueous.

PEA indirectly could activate the receptor Cannabinoid (CB). PEA is known to have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and neuroprotective properties.
